From 1957, when GE developed cubic boron nitride (CBN) single crystal powder and the 1970s, when PCBN tools were successfully developed, PCBN tools have gradually become mature after more than 60 years of development. PCBN cutters are mostly welded by PCBN composite chips and cutter bars or indexable inserts. In recent years, there are more and more types of integral PCBN inserts. PCBN blade is a composite whole formed by directly sintering about 1mm PCBN layer on the cemented carbide substrate. This material not only has the high hardness, high thermal stability and high chemical stability of PCBN, but also has the advantages of good strength and weldability of cemented carbide. According to the formula of different content, PCBN tools can not only cut various workpieces with high hardness (powder metallurgy, tungsten carbide, nodular cast iron, gray cast iron), but also be easy to weld. The quality of PCBN tool directly affects the cutting performance of the tool
